We're trying to put together some information on local support groups and helplines. If you know of a group, or are looking for a special kind of group which you'd like us to research for you, please contact us and we'll do our best to help.

Emma and Sharon have set up the group 'Stepping Stones' for children with down syndrome and their parents and carers (siblings are welcome too)
They run a friendly coffee morning on the first Friday of every month from 9.45 - 11.45 - Refreshments, Toys, Chat and Support -, in Edward Hall (Victoria & Appleton Halls) on the corner of A30/ West Green Road, Hartley Whitney. RG27 8RE

PSDS is a voluntary group whose principal goal is to provide support for children with Down Syndrome and their families, for new and existing parents. We meet regularly as families to share our experiences and provide a network of support, friendship, advice and expertise.

We support families and professionals involved in the care of children and adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorders in Surrey and the U.K. Some of the things we do are - Hold monthly meetings in the Guildford, Woking and Woking areas, Organise coffee mornings throughout Surrey, Run social events for families with autistic children, Organise workshops and conferences for both parents and professionals, Support a social group of young adults with Asperger Syndrome

Breastfeeding Community provides support through awareness, and the website has a comprehensive list of support groups throughout the UK. We will publish a free magazine for new mums, which peer support groups can also use to raise funds.
